PHYSICAL BODY PAIN

Happy Sunday 🌈 How has your week been?

You know that feeling when there is something in your life that needs sorting and it may feel like a prickly thorn in your side? 🤔😏🌵 You may try brushing it to the side, hiding it under your bed or pushing it in the closet but somehow it finds a way out! 🤣😏 Perhaps you say, 'She'll be right mate, it'll sort itself out'. However, a year later it's still present and not choosing to go anywhere. 🤔

That was my realisation this week with a physical weakness in my body. I've been doing Ashtanga yoga for almost a year and I still have the same weakness. So I received awareness and got curious as to why I wasn't sorting it, knowing there are infinite solutions and possibilities. Plus, I was also tired of hearing myself complain about the pesky, old shoulder injury that was in the way of me basking in the glory of yoga. 😊😍

So I got vulnerable and honest with myself. 💜 Yes, I absolutely want peace with my left shoulder and to improve my core strength. And I don't want to listen to myself complain about it one more time. 😆😴😴

Instead I would bask in the glory of asking for help. 😊🤣 Or should I say lean into the vulnerability of admitting there was a weakness in my body that I couldn't fix myself! It was time to sort it one step at a time. 😋🎆✨✨✨

So I opened up to possibilities and decided to firstly see an Osteopath - it was an awesome experience. I wrote to my yoga teacher (in India at the moment) about ideas on how to improve these weaknesses.

I spoke to my husband (a Physical Education teacher) and asked for his input. I spoke to my bestie healer friend and by the end of it, I had a really clear direction on the support I needed to move my shoulder and body forward. 🎆✨🙏🧘‍♀‍ Happy days! 😋😃🤩

YOUR GREATEST STRENGTH

Joy is in receiving that what you may have felt was your greatest weakness is in fact your greatest strength!! For many, many years now, I have made an energy in me really wrong. I would describe this energy as ‘pushy, assertive, ambitious’ and in the past I have always run it out through lots of exercise. I have suppressed it for a long time, so desiring to be something different… gentle, warm, delicate!! I took up yoga again really hoping that I could quieten this assertive energy in me!! However, what has started to become glaringly obvious is that because, I’ve judged it, I can feel really challenged when I experience it in my son! Many times I have thought, “Wow, this energy in my son is really hard work!!” because I’ve found it hard to work with, in myself!! However, now I’m receiving it and loving it and running this pushy energy out through Crossfit and healing, I now say and think to our son, Ethan, “This energy, if you choose, can and will be your greatest strength on your path”. Embrace it! Love it! Receive it! What energy within yourself do you need to embrace?? Sending you heaps of love and joy xx

BE ALL OF YOU

Joy is in unashamedly being ALL of YOU! Imagine a planet where we gave ourselves and everyone else the freedom to look, express, share, live the way they choose, free from judgement!! Where we see someone on the street who looks different to us and we celebrate their self expression, we celebrate their differences and more importantly we celebrate our own differences. With all that I know now, I would've said to my 22 year old self, "Precious soul, let go of trying to fit in; let go of desiring and striving for people's approval.
